Why David Chalmers?

Why David Chalmers? This is an intriguing question. I first encountered Chalmers' work when I first read his paper "Facing up to the problem of Consciousness." It was a great revelation to me. I saw some of the things that I had independently thought about consciousness. It was as if I was facing a mirror of my thoughts as they might have developed ten years from that date. Before read Chalmers' work I had not done much reflection on my own thoughts because I thought that they would have been "discovered" by someone else a long time ago. But in a sense I was mistaken because almost all of the philosophers had either ignored this problem or "solved" it by redefining it. In this manner David Chalmers is a philosopher who not recognized this problem but also addressed it correctly. I am also working on a paper on consciousness, if only I could get enough time to work on it seriously. All in all, David Chalmers continues to be an influence on me. One day in not so distant future I would like to meet Dr. Chalmers.
